The Black Studies Lecture Presents Colson Whitehead in conversation with Dr. R. L' Heureux Lewis- McCoy Lecture: December 2, 2015 SH 250 6:00pm- 8:00pm Colson Whitehead has won many honors including the MacArthur Fellowship (2002), and the Guggenheim Fellowship (2013). His notable works include 'The Intuitionist' (1999) and 'Sag Harbor' (2009), both works were finalist for the PEN Award. His latest non-fiction work is, The Noble Hustle: Poker, Beef Jerky & Death (2014).
Graham Hodges - The Underground Railroad in New York
Professor Graham Russel Gao Hodges is a distinguished fulbright scholar. He has published and edited over sixteen books including, TAXI! A Social History of the New York City Cabdriver, David Ruggles: A Radical Black Abolitionist and The Underground Railroad in New York City, and Root and Branch:African Americans in New York and East Jersey, 1613 - 1863.
