Celebrate Women's History Month with a Founder Talk presented by Standard Chartered. We will speak with Kim Wales, founder of CrowdBureau.

CrowdBureau is an information technology platform that offers asset and risk management tools for the peer-to-peer lending and securities crowdfunding industry.

Kim Wales is the Founder and CEO of Wales Capital and CrowdBureau, LLC. She is an Adjunct Professor in Economics, Women's Studies and Black Studies – “Entrepreneurship: Women & Diversity” at City College of New York (CCNY) and The Zahn Innovation Center. She is an author, advocate and pioneer on the JOBS Act 2012 (equity and debt internet finance) and the democratization of capital for investors, small cap companies and non -publicly traded funds. She has been quoted in media including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Smart CEO, Business Week, The Deal, Black Enterprise and featured on Bloomberg-TV. She is a frequent invited speaker at global events.

Ms. Wales has advised and influenced decision-making for a new investor class and asset classes through recommendations to the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, European Commission [Building a Capital Markets Union green paper], the Ontario Securities Commission, Taiwan Financial Supervisor Commission, Australian Stock Exchange and other state and federal government agencies as related to equity and debt based crowdfunding. Prior to 2012, Kim spent 17 years consulting with Banks onshore and offshore.

Ms. Wales is a Founding member and Board member of the Crowdfund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA), CF50 (Think Tank) and the former Chairman of the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA).

We will begin with the discussion at 5:30pm EST, and the last 15 minutes will be saved for guided networking.
