Mentorship

Share your Industry Expertise
Subject Matter Experts offer experience, expertise, skills, and/or interests that can be helpful to an entrepreneur. We'd connect you with a team when your background and interests matched one or more of their needs. Sometimes, the need is for a quick piece of information or for a sounding board for an idea. Other times, the need can be bigger and the interaction can last longer.

Coach a Startup
A Coach works with the startup from the time it first comes into the Center as an applicant, and each startup has to have one. Coaches aren't part of the actual startup. However, they help the new venture coordinate, get ready to participate in our activities, and take full advantage of our services. Coaches help the startup set goals and reach their milestones, and serve as an additional contact person for the Zahn Center to approach when necessary.

Become a Mentor
Mentors provide ongoing support to a single team and help it through the issues it encounters as it develops. The Mentor will help the team ask the right questions and point them toward resources where the answers can be found. Mentors are rare, since most of the startups need a different kind of support and require specific matching. For this reason, we will only seek a Mentor after a team has identified a need worthy of that level of support.

What's in it for you?
If you help support the development of Zahn Innovation Center startups by lending your time and expertise, you will receive much more than you give. You'll receive a strong sense of satisfaction from knowing that your experience may very well have been the boost that a new enterprise needed to launch. You'll gain the opportunity to share knowledge that you have accumulated over a lifetime of experiences, and will be able to interact with a diverse pool of some of the brightest young minds in the country.
