Accelerated Master’s Degree Program in Middle School Science Education

If you are an undergraduate Science Learning & Public Engagement (SLPE) major, you may be eligible to apply 18 undergraduate credits towards a Master’s in Middle School Science Education that includes New York State science teacher certification. 

To be admitted to the program, candidates must:
•    Be a current SLPE undergrad and be formally admitted into the School of Education
•    Have completed at least 60 credits
•    Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0
•    Submit three faculty letters of recommendation and a personal statement about their interest in the program

Candidates must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 to continue in the program. Those who fall below this GPA cutoff will have two academic semesters (not including summer) to raise their GPA back to 3.0.
