for all students here at the One Stop! Our staff is committed to assist you with any questions
related to PELL and TAP grants, direct loans, Federal Work Study, StudentForms submissions,
filling out forms, and more.

Why do I have an “In House Collection” hold even though I received a financial aid?
Your financial aid may still be processing. The most common reason for this is that you may have a task in your CUNYfirst to-do list that has not been completed. Please make sure to read your emails and complete all required tasks for your financial aid to be fully processed.
Why am I not receiving TAP this semester?
Common reasons include:
• Withdrawing from a class after receiving aid can make you ineligible to receive TAP for the next semester, but you can get it reinstated for other terms.
• If you are part-time, you will need to submit a supplemental form.
• TAP only lasts for 4 years, and if you have already received TAP for a total of 8 semesters, you may have run out.
Is there a limit to how much financial aid I can receive?
• You may receive PELL for up to 6 years, or 12 semesters.
• You may receive TAP for up to 4 years, or 8 semesters.
Do I qualify for financial aid as an international student?
International students are not eligible for financial aid. However, you can visit the CCNY financial aid website and look at the international page regarding any aid. If you have an idea of what your major is, you can contact that department and see if there are any scholarships available.
Why hasn’t my direct loan disbursed?
You may still need to complete the entrance counseling or the MPN. In order for your loan to disburse into your account, you must complete both of those tasks. Please log in to studentaid.gov to do so.
How can I request a direct loan or request for an additional amount?
If you previously declined a loan offer or want to request for additional loan amounts, you may submit a request through the CCNY StudentForms website.
How can I apply for Federal Work Study?
There is no separate application for FWS. In order to qualify, you must submit the FAFSA application. If you do not get a FWS offer in your financial aid package, you may email fws@ccny.cuny.edu and request to be placed on the waitlist.
