Important Deadlines

Summer 2026

• July 31, 2026 – Last day to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal for the Summer 2026 semester.

• July 31, 2026 – Last day for students to submit a 2026–2027 Professional Judgment Appeal for Summer 2026.

• August 1, 2026 – Last day to submit a Federal Direct Loan, Parent PLUS Loan, or Grad PLUS Loan request for the Summer 2026 semester only.

• August 19, 2026 – Last day for students enrolled only in Summer to have a valid (non-rejected) 2026–2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file.

• September 21, 2026 – Last day for students enrolled only in Summer 2026 to submit documents for 2026–2027 verification.

Fall 2026

• August 31, 2026 – Last day to submit a Fall/Spring 2026–2027 New York State Excelsior Scholarship application. Current Excelsior recipients should not submit this application.

• September 17, 2026 – Last day to declare or change a major/minor concentration (required for students with 60 or more earned credits).
  Note: The deadline for any changes or updates to the 2026–2027 TAP application is June 30, 2027.

• October 2, 2026 – Last day to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal.

• October 16, 2026 – Last day for a student to submit a 2026–2027 Professional Judgment Appeal request for Fall 2026 only. (See additional notes below.)

• November 5, 2026 – 60% point of the term. A student has earned 100% of their federal funding for the current payment period. 

• December 5, 2026 – Last day to submit a Federal Direct Loan, Parent PLUS Loan, or Grad PLUS Loan request for a Fall 2026 only loan.

• December 21, 2026 – Last day for a student enrolled in Fall 2026 only to have an official/valid (non-rejected) 2026–2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file.

• January 8, 2027 – Last day for a student enrolled in Fall 2026 only to submit documents for 2026–2027 verification.
  Documents must be submitted before Spring 2027.

• June 30, 2027 – Last day to apply for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).

Spring 2027

• February 17, 2027 – Last day to declare or change a major/minor concentration (required for students with 60 or more earned credits).

• March 5, 2027 – Last day to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal.

• March 5, 2027 – Last day to submit a Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 or Spring 2027 only:

  • Professional Judgment Appeal

  • Dependency Appeal

  • Family Contribution Appeal

  • Cost of Attendance Appeal

• May 1, 2027 – Last day to submit a Federal Direct Loan, Parent PLUS Loan, or Grad PLUS Loan request for a Spring 2027 only loan. (See additional notes below.)

• May 22, 2027 – Last day for a student enrolled in Fall and Spring or Spring only to have an official/valid (non-rejected) 2026–2027 FAFSA on file.

• June 30, 2027 – Last day to apply for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).

• July 24, 2027 – Last day for a Spring 2027 only enrolled student to submit documents for 2026–2027 verification.

Important Notes

• NY Excelsior Scholarship Appeal - One year after school notification of loss of scholarship or HESC closes academic year which ever one is earlier.  If you have a valid appeal do not wait.  Reason for appeals are limited. You must request for an excelsior appeal from the CCNY Financial aid office for current appeal application.

• May 1, 2027 – Last day to submit a Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Federal Direct Loan, Parent PLUS Loan, or Grad PLUS Loan request.
  To be eligible for a fall and spring loan, you must have completed at least 6 credits in the fall and be registered for at least 6 credits in the spring semester.

• March 14, 2027 – Last day to submit a Professional Judgment Appeal, Dependency Appeal, Family Contribution Appeal, or Cost of Attendance Appeal for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, or Spring 2027 only.
  Failure to submit additional documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office in a timely manner will result in your appeal being denied.

• FAFSA Deadline Reminder:
  Federal processing deadlines prohibit the college from processing a 2026–2027 FAFSA after a student’s last date of enrollment. Students who have not filed a FAFSA for the 2026–2027 academic year and are no longer enrolled have missed the deadline to be considered for federal student aid for that academic year.
