  1. Review of December 15th Minutes
    • No changes required, minutes were approved
  2. President’s Announcements
    • DOJ Investigation Updates (Confidential)
    • Will reconvene group of liaisons regarding process/procedures if ICE comes on campus
  3. Active Shooter Training - February 23rd
    • During the February 23rd Cabinet Meeting we will hold an Active Shooter Training.  This will be done in two stages, the first will be more of a table top, and will look to hold the training in SH 350.  Will also look to invite department liaisons to join, it is important for them to be present for discussions on how to respond to ICE on campus and other emergencies.  Communications overall specifically during these types of situations need to be reviewed and refined, this will be a significant component of the training.  The table top will then be followed by a series of drills.
    • CUNY Alert will also take over at some point, and we need to ensure that everyone is set-up to receive alerts
  4. PMP Updates
    • Provost noted that Nikisha is doing a data collection of the revenue and expense side of the Master’s Program.  Once completed, we will look at the job market side, how we are preparing students for after graduation.
      • The President noted that we need to begin looking at the Labor Market in the Master’s Program.
    • Naomi presented on Expanding EAB Navigate highlighting key milestones and status as of January. 
      • For the milestone specific to defining the cohort structure (300 per advisor), moving the status of completion to March 2026. 
      • For the Configure EAB Navigate and Train Advisors - on track, system configuration is complete, updates to test and production underway.
      • Everyone will get a response within 48 hours as part of this new process.
      • Also on track to set benchmarks (how many advisors are using the platform, how many students are engaging with it, how are students being referred, etc.), want to also see if there is any other data that the Deans would like to have.  Looking to have regular reporting, to get an overall picture of the process.
      • Requested support in the following areas:
        • Identify 1 advisor for the EAB navigate user group by February 1st.
        • Nominate faculty to serve on an EAB navigate end user group - will meet once per semester by February 13th
        • Keep advisory list current
        • Encourage faculty and advisors to report errors and ask questions
        • Share the training schedule with advisors, faculty advisors and faculty
      • Q&A - Provost noted that students that are not on navigate that have specific needs, how to work with this student population and get them onboard
      • Include deadlines at the top of the Cabinet agenda moving forward per the President
    • When you go through the PMP report, if you have been assigned a resource, be prepared to respond with the status, want to do regular reporting, also note if you are delayed - keep an eye out for an email requesting this information
    • What is the next big project in the PMP?
      • President noted the following:
        • Initiatives around online education - better data coming out on the 4 semesters?
          • Three items in the strategic plan that overlap with online education, Provost suggested this should be next to review.
          • Artificial Intelligence can pose some challenges in the online world
          • What problem are we trying to solve with online education
          • Perhaps looking at non-credit bearing courses in the online education world
      • CUNY Beyond - Develop clear connected learning goals, getting into the course schedule, career preparation
      • Office of Experiential Learning
      • Another area CUNY wanted to pay attention to is Professional Development
    • Will review again at the next meeting, be prepared to discuss in more detail
  5. February 9th Cabinet Cancellation - Lobbying in Albany

Other

  • Handshake, was just signed, was a delay because of the fee, but CUNY worked it out
  • President thanked Kevin Foster for his Interim work as the new Dean will be starting in his role
  • Ken noted that the Cabinet should look for an email invitation regarding imminent arrival of devices from CUNY, approximately 1300, critical that you inform your staff to attend this meeting on Friday (1/16) to equitably distribute the devices.  If the Cabinet can’t attend, send your chair, representative, etc.  Devices include but are not limited to laptops, desktops, Macs, etc.
    • Not considered OTPS, but Capital
  • Jorge will be the person to ask about offices, furniture, etc. for any new hires
  • Operations Update
    • Water fountains are being installed, will eventually be asked to stop ordering water, this is part of the sustainability program
    • NAC solar parking lot will go live in the next 30 days
    • Have a new food vendor, beginning at the end of the month, will be grab and go until we go through and RFP per CUNY due to usage of kitchen, this is for students only no food will be available at this time for the faculty/staff
    • Currently wrapping up all the Master Planning and then will socialize
    • Have a draft space policy, comprehensive, to be shared with the Cabinet, data to help drive decisions over the next 10 years
    • Next month will start of new budget process
    • Required trainings, remind your staff - will send a reminder email
  • January 21st New Student Orientation - Reminder, email will be sent by Student Affairs
  • January 23rd Student Leaders Training
