Marilyn Mathew

Marilyn Mathews is the President of CCNY Women in Science. She is a senior at the City College of New York, majoring in Biochemistry. Marilyn began her research experience at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in 2018, where she used a histochemical approach to study macrophages present in cerebral contusions. In 2019, she joined Dr. Mark Emerson’s retinal development lab to collect data for the comparative study of ground squirrel and mouse retinas. Marilyn began her clinical experience as a scribe for Dr. Matthew DelMauro at Adira at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She now works as a Medical Assistant at GoHealth Urgent Care- Northwell Health. Outside of her medical pursuit, she is the co-captain of Macaulay Deewane, Macaulay Honors College’s Bollywood Fusion dance team, and she’s a member of her church’s Missions board where she plans service trips.
