Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

Dear New and Returning Students,

I am excited to welcome you to the spring 2022 semester at City College.  I hope that you were able to get some rest over the holidays

As you begin this semester, I want to let you know that our faculty and staff are here to help you to succeed.  As we continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to assure you that our staff works hard to maintain a safe environment for you all. Whether you are attending remotely or in person, I would like to make you aware of our COVID-19 Safety Protocols, as well as the following resources, to assist you in navigating City College:

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Campus Safety: Our campus will have a substantial number of people returning this semester and it is very important that we all follow campus safety protocols.  CUNY has implemented COVID-19 vaccination and testing protocols that our community is required to follow. Additionally, there is a mandate that requires everyone to wear a mask while in our buildings.  Please follow these mandates as it is important that you not only protect yourself but help prevent the spread to others. For more information on mask safety along with our other safety protocols, please see the Spring 22 Reopening Plan.

Health and Wellness: Your health and well-being are important and therefore, please see our available services herehttps://www.ccny.cuny.edu/health-wellness

Academic Support:  Our AccessAbility Center ensures that all students receive the appropriate accommodations. The AAC/SDS physical office is open; however, all student appointments will continue to take place via Zoom until further notice. For students who are on-campus, a private space will be provided so that you can meet with your counselor/personnel remotely.

The student lobby will only be open to students who have an appointment to meet with staff.  https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/accessability

Enrollment Services Offices: https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/enrollment

Financial Assistance

Financial Aid: The City College Financial Aid Office administers federal and state funds, as well as those provided by special programs, the City University of New York and the College itself, to ensure that you have an opportunity to pursue higher education at CCNY. The office will work with you to combine scholarships, grants, loans, work-study opportunities and governmental benefits into a package to help meet the difference between the cost of college and the contributions you and your family are expected to provide.  https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/financialaid

Emergency Grants: The Emergency Grants Program provides assistance to students in good academic standing who are facing unforeseen events, resulting in a financial emergency that jeopardizes their ability to persist at City College. The goal of the fund is to help students remain in school without interruption so they successfully complete their degrees.  https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/health-wellness/emergency-grants-program

Career & Professional Development Institute CPDI): Assists students in securing internships, and is a major resource for students at all academic levels. https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/cpdi

Student Life: Student Life at City College helps you make new friends, expand into new areas of interest, develop a hobby or develop your leadership qualities. https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/studentlife

I encourage you to contact our offices and to avail yourselves of the services. Become an active part of student life at CCNY.

I wish you all the very best as you begin the new semester.

Sincerely,

Celia Lloyd
