CCNY Math Placement Test
The CCNY Math Placement Test is administered to incoming students and is used for placement into mathematics or mathematics related courses. All incoming freshman who have met the CUNY's proficiency requirement in math, are required to take the CCNY Math Placement Test.
SAT, CLEP, ACT, and New York State Regents scores cannot be used for exemption for the CCNY Math Placement test.
If you are a transfer student you are not require to take the CCNY Math Placement test, your math placement is based on previous coursework as evaluated by our Undergraduate Transfer Evaluation Services. If you are unsure of your placement, please see your academic advisor for assistance.
The CCNY Math Placement Test does not affect your acceptance into the college. However, it does affect which course you will be eligible to take based on your major requirements and/or major entry criteria. Scores on the CCNY Math Placement Test are valid only for City College and you can only take this test once.

Scheduling
Before you can schedule the CCNY Math Placement Test, you must first accept our offer of admission and submit your commitment deposit (if required). Once these steps are completed, please log in to your Admitted Student Portal and navigate to "Required Testing" to schedule your test.
Testing Accommodations
If you need testing accommodations, please ensure accommodations are approved before scheduling for your test. After approval, email your accommodation letter to testing@ccny.cuny.edu . We will contact you once it is received to schedule your test.
Preparation Resources
Prepare carefully for the CCNY Math Placement Test, as your test results determine your placement in advanced math or math-related courses. The more you know about the contests on the test the better prepared you will be. Take advantage of resources in Brightspace.
View your CCNY Math Placement
Your math course placement is available in CUNYfirst within 2-3 business days after completing your test. To view your placement, login to CUNYfirst and go to:
Student Center → Course Planning and Enrollment → Milestones.
