Step 7 - Complete all required testing
All incoming freshman students are required to take the CCNY Math Placement Test regardless of any math coursework completed in high school. The test is used to determine placement into the appropriate math course, and with the exception of engineering applicants, does not prevent entry into your intended major.
If you are an incoming ESL student, you may also be required to take the City University of New York Assessment Test in Writing. You will be notified by e-mail when the testing dates become available.
For more information, please consult the Office of Evaluation and Testing website (https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/testing)
Step 8 - Prepare for advisement and registration
You will be notified by e-mail when the advisement appointments become available. However, you must complete all of the previous steps in order to meet with an advisor and enroll in courses.
