Program Description - Stream D

M.S.E.D Educational Theatre
34 Credits


Candidates who do not wish to obtain certification in Theatre will be admitted to Stream D. This stream will provide advanced coursework in Educational Theatre and all requisite content pedagogy courses for a Master's level program. No student teaching is required. Students in this stream will be prepared to work as a teaching artist, in higher education, after school programs, community based organizations or other related arts field and non-profit organizations.

 

EDCE 7700A: Drama in Education (Offered in Fall Semester) *to be taken in first semester
EDCE 7600A: Artistic Lab I 0 credit (Offered as a lab with Drama in Education) (Offered in Fall Semester) 
EDCE 4400C: Arts Integration: Theatre and Related Arts in the Curriculum (Grades PK-12) +15 Hours of Fieldwork
EDCE 3600C: Theatre for Youth and Young Audience +15 Hours of Fieldwork (Offered in Fall Semester) 
EDCE 4100F: Developing Curriculum in Nontraditional Settings (Offered Every Other Spring semester)
EDCE 4500K: Inclusive Practices in the Arts +15 Hours of Fieldwork (Offered in Spring Semester)
