Purchasing
The Department seeks to ensure the maximum level of services for the lowest possible cost. The procurement of goods and services for the College requires adherence to myriad rules and regulations. To date, there are over a dozen sources of regulations including:
- NYS Education Law
- NYS Finance Law NYS Constitution
- NYS Public Officers Law
- NYS Procurement Stewardship Act
- NYS statutory requirements, such as Executive Law
- CUNY Rules and Regulations
- State Comptroller Bulletins
- NYS Executive Orders
- Federal Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
- Best Practices
- The Omnibus Procurement Act
The Purchasing Department of the City College of New York remains committed to assisting departments in the acquisition of goods and services in the most appropriate and efficient manner.
We encourage all departments to notify Purchasing of their needs as soon as possible, since some purchases require lead time for bidding, manufacturing of product, or scheduling of work.
