President Boudreau opened the meeting at 10:00 AM and called the meeting to order.

Announcements:  President Boudreau started the meeting by informing everyone that VP Witherspoon who is absent from today’s meeting will be retiring effective February 28th. He stated he would keep her position vacant at this time because there are more pressing administrative positions that need to fill. President Boudreau also announced the retirement of Lydia Gerson.

President Boudreau asked Provost Liss to make his announcements about the changes in his office.  Provost Liss informed the Cabinet that Rose Marie Wesson is no longer Interim Associate Provost for Research.  She now holds the position of Associate Provost for Research.  He also announced the retirement of his Administrative Assistant, Zaida Matos-Nieves, and the hiring of Kristin Wilson who will become his new assistant.

President Boudreau also spoke about re-opening. He stated, CUNY is starting to think about planning for the fall semester. The University will not mandate a specific split between in-person and online classes. He stated, CUNY expects us not to be more online than we are now, they are expecting movement to a more normalized campus, pending health conditions.  President Boudreau also stated that what this means about online instruction is that we will be moving from a profile where we’re thinking about online instruction as a health precaution and more thinking about online instruction as something that meets pedagogical needs.

President Boudreau stated CUNY has also announced protocols for graduation.  He anticipates that the college will be doing an in-person series of graduations, most likely outdoors because there are different protocols for indoor and outdoor graduations.  He also stated that CUNY has updated the guidelines around masking, quarantining, and contact tracing.  President Boudreau also mentioned there is now a vaccination mandate for all instructional faculty and staff, whereas, every member of the PSC union now has the same vaccination mandate as faculty; this leaves off the mandate for people in Facilities, Public Safety, and the IT departments.  He stated that this means that 73% of our staff in addition to 100% of our students and 100% of our faculty now are under a vaccination mandate.  There is also a mandate for students to get boosted.

In regards to the budget, President Boudreau indicated that the budget we have now is pretty good. However, he stated he will be lobbying for a better budget for things that were not in the Governor’s executive budget.

President Boudreau then discussed the OKR Management Plan (Development and Management).  He spoke about turning goals into a set of OKRs. He spoke about building the infrastructure necessary for a campaign and also talked about securing the momentum.  He stated infrastructure means building organizational systems in order to make sure we have the capacity to do what we want to do.  Momentum means that we have to keep doing things such as, raising money and communicating effectively, and building our network.  President Boudreau also stated, there are some infrastructure goals for the Office of Institutional Advancement and some for units of the college.  He stated that he will be developing OKRs for the big areas that come into his office; Student Success, Facilities, and Development alongside those responsible for these areas. However, he will hold them accountable for the goals that they set.

President Boudreau announced that this is the 175th year of CCNY. He then asked VP Mozeleski to speak about the campaign for the college.  She spoke about the 175th anniversary and the details around the work that is happening with the departments on campus.

President Boudreau stated that he and some of his top administrators will begin holding regular meetings with the Deans in an effort to collaborate on the relationships between the vision for the campus and the vision for their respective units.
