Computer Science Co-op Program

In partnership with the CCNY Computer Science Department, the CCNY Career and Professional Development Institute (CPDI) places computer science students with employers as part of Computer Science Co-op Program.  These students have a skill level equivalent to pre-“software engineer,” that is, workable as an entry-level programmer who is familiar with object-oriented programming in C++, Java, and Python, and with a knowledge of data structures and algorithmic development. They have also gone through a professional development program to ensure they are ready for the workplace.

These placements will start at the beginning of the Spring semester and the student will be with the organization through the summer for a total of approximately 7 months.  The student will work 15-20 hours per week while they are in class during the Spring semester in an unpaid capacity and then full-time during summer.  The employer will be responsible for compensating the student for the summer hours ONLY (10 weeks) at the average hourly wage for a computer science student in NYC at the rate of $18/hr.
