  4. Diana Punales-Morejon will be invited to the December 18 Cabinet meeting to give a presentation surrounding campus climate and trauma.

Executive Counsel Occhiogrosso moved the conversation to a check up on campus climate. Dean Rich spoke about an event hosted by the Colin Powell School where Dr. Diana Punales-Morejon, Director of the Psychological Center, led a conversation surrounding the events in Palestine and trauma on campus. The event had a considerable student turnout and was considerably well received. Dean Lamboy also discussed an event held at the School of Education which was also run successfully. President Boudreau iterated that Dr. Punales-Morejon would give a presentation on managing events on campus concerning sensitive topics. The conversation at the December 18  Cabinet meeting will be surrounding how the administration identifies, responds to and provides space for students who are feeling pain, fear and anxiety.

President Boudreau checked in on the progress of each division in a first year experience class for students spanning across all departments. There was a low registration rate for the School of Architecture, but Humanities saw success in their first year of the program. They will be offering the program again in the Spring. The Science department will be piloting a program in the Spring, starting with Biology and, based on response, potentially expanding to all departments.

All Cabinet members continued the conversation concerning Navigate. They spoke on strategies to target faculty member usage of the program, including naming leadership candidates, developing a campaign workshop, and periodic check-ins for faculty. President Boudreau stressed the importance of advisor participation in encouraging faculty integration. AVP De Los Santos stated that Student Affairs is making plans to utilize Navigate for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management functions to track student engagement and diversify usage.

The Department of  Student Affairs created and shared matrices focused on the areas of One Stop and The Hub, respectively. They outlined the various spaces where students could visit to receive various services, and methods that they will use to track aspects of care and engagement. The matrices for these programs, as well as 4 semester scheduling, experiential learning and Navigate will be the basis of formulating an internal PMP for the college. The goals highlighted were:

  1. Increase the presence
  2. Streamline services
  3. Increase the use of technology
