The New Educator - Author Guidelines

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be submitted for review electronically to https://www.tandfonline.com/action/authorSubmission. Manuscripts should be prepared using MS Word and should be approximately 6500 words. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, doublespaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Please number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper.

Each manuscript should include a cover sheet containing the author's name, affiliation, position, preferred mailing address, telephone number(s), fax number, and e-mail address. All other pages should have a running head (not exceeding 50 character spaces) and page number. Identifying information should not appear elsewhere in the manuscript in order to ensure an impartial review.

Please include an abstract of no more than 100 words. Manuscripts, including figures, tables, and references, must conform to the specifications described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th edition. Tables, illustrations, photos, and figures are encouraged.

Authors are requested to submit the manuscript electronically (prepared using MS Word), and sent through e-mail). Each submitted file should be clearly labeled with the author's last name and the running head of the manuscript. All figures, charts, photographs, or work samples must be saved as separate files with separate file names.

Tables and Figures

All illustrations, tables, figures, and charts should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below.  Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction.

Illustrations

Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be submitted as separate files, not embedded in the text.  These digital files should follow these guidelines:

          ″ 300 dpi or higher
″ sized to fit on journal page
″ EPS, TIFF, or PSD format

Permissions

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and should sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the author.  As long as the journal remains open-access, all accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs will remain the property of the author.

Proofs

When a manuscript is accepted for publication, one set of page proofs will be sent to the designated corresponding author. Authors are requested to check and return proofs within 48 hours.
