For many, the choice of pursuing a physics degree is both a practical and personal choice. You'll get a chance to learn about the fundamentals of how the universe is put together, from the sub-atomic level to the intergalactic scales. You'll also be a strong candidate for many different jobs and programs after graduation.
The program at CCNY is designed to help you maximize your chances for success in either direction. Many degree recipients go on to graduate school, while others find great positions around the city and the globe - both groups use their physics toolbox to solve hard problems and improve the state of the world.

Declaring the Physics Major
To be eligible to declare physics major, you will need have completed PHYS 20700 and PHYS 20800 (as well as the required Math Calculus sequence through MATH 213).
