The meeting was called to order at 12:30 pm by VP Mozeleski as President Boudreau was called away to a CUNY meeting and would be joining the meeting later.

The minutes from the February 5 Cabinet meeting were approved, and the new Chief Financial Officer, Ismael Perez, was introduced by COO Gurba.

VP Mozeleski gave an update on Commencement, including the combined graduate commencement ceremony which will be held off-campus on May 30, and the conferment of honorary degrees at the main commencement.

She then opened up the conversation to the deans to speak on the 4 semester schedules. AVP Nwosu-Stewart explained the process for the publishing of the Fall 2024 academic calendar and course schedules. Deans also discussed what impact 4 semester scheduling could potentially have on budget allocations.

President Boudreau joined the meeting and gave his announcements which include:

  1. He received new processes for the PMP process which he will elaborate on further at a future Cabinet meeting, and also received a response to the PMP Planning letter which was submitted in October 2023. The process, in the coming months, will move the college towards a more curated set of goals that they would like to be reached.
  2. The second Sustained Dialogue session took place on February 20, and the process is scheduled to take place every 2 weeks. There are also 17 new trainees undergoing the training in sustained dialogue, following the 20 that completed training in the past semester. The college is collaborating with the Sustained Dialogue Institute, so if any department would like to capitalize on that opportunity, they should reach out to Dr. Terri Watson who is the primary contact.

VP De Los Santos and CDO Konigsberg gave updates on their various efforts towards campus climate, including various events and forums targeted toward students’ open communication and engagement with leadership. The Winter 2024 issue of the Alumnus Magazine, which contains President Boudreau’s statement on the current state of the campus and the college’s strategy, has been published and is available for distribution should any department wish to share. The conversation expanded to strategies that the administration can utilize to help students understand their intentions and rationale when certain decisions are made which they may not necessarily agree with.

Provost Liss discussed the upcoming campaign for full-time and adjunct faculty participation in Navigate which will begin on March 4. Dean Miller proposed making Navigate participation a part of standard culture, and suggested a few ideas to make this possible. President Boudreau suggested that academic leadership and chairs do their best to promote Navigate usage.

Director Williams gave a presentation on updated fall-to-fall retention rates from Fall 2022 to Fall 2023. She highlighted that a primary point of focus should be on students who have 20 credits or less to complete but for various reasons do not finish their degrees. She will be distributing a programmable version of this report to all cabinet members so that they can plug in their own numbers and view their department’s data.
