CCNY EV Chargers

Dear CCNY Community,

We are very pleased to announce the installation of new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in the NAC parking lot effective February 9, 2026. These upgrades support the College’s commitment to sustainability and offer convenient charging options for employees who drive electric or hybrid vehicles. The activation of the NAC EV chargers is the first of several EV projects on campus that will add additional charging and research capabilities for employees, students, and the community.

Please review the following guidelines:

  • Parking Eligibility: All spaces in the NAC lot - including those with EV chargers - are reserved exclusively for current CCNY employees with valid paid parking permits. The NAC lot is not open to St. Nicholas Terrace permit holders or the general public.
  • EV Spaces: 5 of the EV charging stations will be held until 9:00 AM for employees that have a paid day parking permit. After 9:00 AM, those 5 EV spaces will become available to paid permit holders whether they have an Electric Vehicle or not.
  • General EV Space Use: With the exception of the five spaces noted above, EV-designated spots may be used by any authorized employee vehicle on a first-come, first-served basis - electric or non-electric.
  • Idling Fees: There will be no idling fees once your vehicle is fully charged.
  • No Reservations: EV spaces will not be reserved for guest parking or for individual permit holders. All EV spaces are available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Charging Fees: A usage fee applies when charging an electric vehicle.

Having the EV chargers on campus is new and we understanding parking is at a premium. Public Safety, Finance, and Facilities will closely monitor how the rollout is going and make adjustments to the approach as we learn more with your feedback.
