Guest Parking

Guest parking is limited.  It was designed for certain visitors to the College, such as guest lecturers, repair technicians, etc., but not for those attending tours, open houses, or special events unless the event host has arranged for parking.  It was not designed for faculty or staff who occasionally park on campus. ​

We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to a major construction project in the NAC Parking Lot, which has displaced more than 33 parking spaces, we are temporarily unable to accommodate guest parking there.

While this project is necessary to support critical campus infrastructure improvements, we understand that this change may create challenges for departments hosting visitors and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

When space permits, guest parking may be available on a limited basis in the South Campus Lot or the temporary parking area located behind the Spitzer School of Architecture. Because availability is extremely limited, guest parking at these locations cannot be guaranteed.

Departments expecting guests are encouraged to contact the Parking Office in advance to determine whether accommodations may be available.

Visitors who are unable to obtain guest parking are encouraged to use one of the many public parking garages in the surrounding area. A convenient list of nearby parking facilities, including locations, rates, and availability, can be found at https://www.parkwhiz.com by searching for "The City College of New York" or the campus address 160 Convent Avenue, New York, NY 10031.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work through these temporary parking constraints.

Our parking lots are closed on weekends and holidays.

IS THERE ANY STREET PARKING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD?

Yes, but make sure you check and obey the parking restrictions posted on the pole-mounted signs. You can get additional information by viewing the NYC Department of Transportation's official Street Map: www.nycdot.info.  The interactive map shows parking restrictions street by street.
