Harlem 2032: A Community Engagement Showcase at CCNY
The students, staff, and faculty of The City College of New York are deeply committed to our surrounding community of Harlem most closely and New York City most broadly. And yet many times, we ourselves, as faculty and staff, are not aware of the work that our colleagues are leading. To that end, this showcase will serve as introductions to the projects and causes in which we as CCNY staff and faculty are engaged.
This forum serves as the kick-off event for Harlem 2032, a decade-long initiative by which local community leaders and we at CCNY will together address intertwined issues related to environmental and social justice facing our Harlem community. We will affirm efforts addressing the impact of climate change, economic disempowerment, health disparities, inequities in housing and education, among others, while also affirming the neighborhood’s rich cultural heritage.
Refreshments will be served.
