The Civil Engineering Department Chair Anil Agrawal accepted the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2026 George Winter Award on May 1, 2026, at the ASCE Structures Congress in Boston, MA. This award is given to Prof. Agrawal in recognition of his outstanding contributions in both structural engineering and mentoring of high school students in STEM.
The George Winter Award, established in 1990 and named after Dr. George Winter, is intended as a recognition of achievements of an active structural engineering researcher, educator, or practitioner who best typifies the late Dr. George Winter's humanistic approach to his profession: An equal concern for matters technical and social, for art as well as science, for soul as well as intellect.
