Changes to the Curriculum

Starting in Fall 2015, CE 316 CE Decision and Systems Analysis and CE 405 CE Management will flip semesters. To ease the transition, both courses will be offered in Fall 2015, but starting in Spring 2016 the new rotation will be followed:

  • CE 316 CE Decision and Systems Analysis – Fall only from Spring 2016 on
  • CE 405 CE Management – Spring only from Spring 2016 on
  • CE 327 Transportation Systems Engineering:prereqs are now CE 209, CE 264 and CE 332
  • Environmental Engineering / Water Resources specialization core courses are now:
    • CE 566 Engineering Hydrology (prereq CE 365)
    • CE 583 Air Pollution and Control (prereq CE 474, Math 391), OR
    • CE 584 Solid Waste Management (prereq CE 474)
  • Environmental Engineering / Water Resources specialization elective courses now also include:
    • CE 451 Environmental Water Resources (prereq CE 365)
    • CE 482 Water and Wastewater Treatment (prereq CE 474)
    • CE 583 Air Pollution and Control (prereq CE 474, Math 391) if not taken as core, OR
    • CE 584 Solid Waste Management (prereq CE 474) if not taken as core
    • ENGR 59910 Intro to GIS
    • ENGR 30100 Intro to Remote Sensing
  • Multidisciplinary specialization courses are now (new courses indicated with **):
    • CE 440 FEA of Structures (prereq CE 335, CE 340, Math 392)
    • CE 442 Structural Design (prereq: CE 264, CE 340)
    • CE 520 Traffic Engineering (prereq: CE 326, CE 327)
    • CE 540 Highway Engineering (prereq: CE 326, CE 327)
    • ** CE 566 Engineering Hydrology (prereq CE 365)
    • ** CE 583 Air Pollution and Control (prereq CE 474, Math 391), OR
    • ** CE 584 Solid Waste Management (prereq CE 474)
  • Structures specialization elective courses now also include:
    • CE 540 Highway Engineering (prereq: CE 326, CE 327)
