The New York Water Environment Association

LEADING THE WAY IN WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT

The New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) is an organization of water quality professionals founded in 1929 to serve the public interest by promoting sustainable water quality management through science, education, and training.

Members include civil and environmental engineers, biologists, chemists, local and state government officials, treatment plant managers and operators, laboratory technicians, students, professors, lawyers, environmental scientists, equipment manufacturers, and distributors.

The NYWEA City College Student Chapter is dedicated to furthering the mission of NYWEA by hosting trips, seminars, workshops and other events to increase knowledge about sustainable water quality management in the CCNY community.

In addition to holding events at City College, the Chapter works extensively with the NYWEA Metropolitan Chapter and Met Chapter Young Professionals (YP) group to provide CCNY students a forum for networking, continuing education, professional growth, development of leadership skills, and access to the professional water environment community in New York.
