City College of New York is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. AAQEP accreditation affirms that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and that the program has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality. City College received 7-year AAQEP accreditation in August 2026 (see Action Report) and must host its next site visit prior to June 30, 2033, to maintain accreditation.
