Assistive Technology

Students who are registered with AAC/SDS can utilize assistive technology (AT) as an accommodation for equal access.  Students receive an "AA" logo sticker from AAC/SDS staff if assistive technology is determined as an accommodation.   

Below, you can find information about assistive technologies (software and hardware) throughout the CCNY campuses.

AccessAbility Center*
The main office has 2 workstations equipped with:
Software: ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader (PC), Jaws (PC), Kurzweil 3000 (PC), Ginger 
Hardware: larger monitors, height adjustable table, headphones, noise-canceling headphones, printer/scanner, CCTV, Braille board and embosser

Cohen Library
There are 11 workstations equipped with:
Software: ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader (PC), Jaws (PC), Kurzweil 3000 (Mac and PC), Ginger; and by request Read & Write Gold and Dragon Naturally Speaking 
Hardware: larger monitors, height adjustable tables, headphones, noise-canceling headphones, printer/scanner, CCTV

TECH Center**
There are 40 workstations equipped with:
Software: ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader (PC), Jaws (PC), Kurzweil 3000 (Mac and PC); and by request Read & Write Gold and Dragon Naturally Speaking 
Hardware: Printer; and by request headphones and scanner at the Helpdesk
**SR15: Private room designated for Dragon Naturally Speaking; if you have an "AA" sticker on your ID card from AAC/SDS staff, you can show this to the TECH Center Helpdesk to reserve the room.

Science & Engineering Library
One workstation equipped with:
Software: ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader (PC), Jaws (PC), Kurzweil 3000 (PC)
Hardware: Printer and scanner

Architecture Library
One workstation equipped with:
Software: ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader (PC), Jaws (PC), Kurzweil 3000 (PC)

Multimedia Center
There are 10 workstations equipped with:

There are workstations at the computer lab and library equipped with:
