Celebrating Our Successes
BME @ CCNY Distinguished Professor Emeritus Sheldon Weinbaum was awarded the National Medal of Science by President Biden in October 2023. Professor Weinbaum is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). Professor Weinbaum also received the Benjamin Franklin Medal in December 2021 and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Physiological Society (APS).
