Archiving for films, for community
From finding and using the footage you want in your film - to what exactly an archival producer is responsible for - to the point of view of an archivist - who helps to preserve these materials, and how archiving is important at all levels - personal and community. Join us to hear from archival producer and filmmaker Amilca Palmer and archivist Marie Lascu.

Amilca Palmer is a Brooklyn-based producer and researcher who has worked on numerous critically acclaimed documentaries, including the celebrated PBS series African American Lives with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and the Emmy Award-winning film The Murder of Emmett Till. Marie Lascu is a founding member of the Community Archiving Workshop (CAW) Collective and is the Digital Archivist for Ballet Tech, an NYC public dance school. She has worked as an audiovisual archiving consultant for over a decade with many organizations and individuals.
