Research: Annaliese conducted a comprehensive review of literature and scholarship on the infamous Parsley Massacre of 1937 to explore how the rhetoric and actions of political leaders can both exacerbate and sustain colorism. Her research reveals how Dominican and Haitian scholars alike have created a tradition of remembering this tragedy to honor its victims and improve relations between the island neighbors.
