This documentary looks at: 1) the origins of the Constitutionalist Movement within the Dominican military that sought to reverse the 1963 military coup  that overthrew Juan Bosch who became the first democratically elected president after the fall of Trujillo, 2) the military, logistical and ideological aspects behind the comandos populares, the military-civilian units that fought against the coup makers and U.S. military troops and 3) a behind the scenes of the negotiations that put an end to the civil war in August of 1965. Featuring Rafael (Fafa) Taveras, Roberto Cassá, Arlette Fernández Domínguez and Ciriaco Landolfi among others.
