09-28-2020 Voter Registration Memo

Dear Members and Friends of the City College Community:

You must be registered to vote by October 9, 2020 (online, by mail and in-person) to be able to vote in the November 3 General Election.

Here is how you can register:

Are you prepared to vote?  Decide how you will vote and do so as early as possible to avoid delays.

  • Verify your Registration Status for the General Election.
  • NYS registered voters have three options to vote in the General Election:
    • Absentee Voting
      • All registered voters can request an absentee ballot (under the "temporary illness" option) if they have concerns related to CVOID-19.  Request a Ballot by October 27 (NYC Absentee Ballot request).
      • Mail (postmarked by November 3) or drop off your completed and signed ballot no later than November 3.
    • Vote Early
      • The in-person Early Voting period is October 24 – November 1.  Check you Early Voting Poll Site for days and hours of operation.
    • Vote in-person on Election Day, November 3

In an effort to engage CUNY students and young people in our communities around elections, CUNY has collaborated with NYCVotes in the WePowerNYC Campaign.  The campaign aims to get students to Take the Pledge to Vote, and to sign up to receive election alerts and reminders to help them stay involved and engaged around voting and elections.

If you are not a citizen and need services to put you on the path to citizenship, CUNY's Citizenship Now! offers free citizenship and immigration assistance. Please visit the Citizenship Now! website.

Your Vote is Your Voice. Make it Count. CUNY Votes!
