Support Services and Fees

Once your application has been reviewed and given preliminary approval status by the Office of Events Management, it will be formally presented to the CCNY Events Screening Committee.

In order to ensure the safety and sanitation of campus events the Events Screening Committee may assign event support staffing. Event support includes Public Safety representatives such as Campus Security Assistants (CSA) and Campus Peace Officers (CPO) as well as Physical Plant Services representatives, which includes custodians, laborers, and electricians.

Fees associated with an event are assessed by the CCNY Events Screening Committee and can include:

  • Venue Fees
  • Support Service Fees
    • Security 
    • Custodial
    • Audio/Visual

NOTE: All support services must be paid with non-tax levy funds.

Public Safety

The City College Department of Public Safety provides safety and security for the entire college community. The Office of Events Management will work closely with event planners to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided for your event.
Public Safety Fees
4 hour minimum for all event.
Security Assistant (CSA) $26.35/hr.
Peace Officer (CPO) $34.33/hr.
Corporal $37.60/hr.
Sergeant $43.21/hr.
Specialist $45.52/hr.
Fire Safety Director $52.27/hr.

Physical Plant

Physical Plant Services provides critical special event support including but not limited to custodians, laborers, electricians, and plumbers. The Office of Events Management will work closely with you to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided for your event.
Physical Plant
4 hour minimum for all events.
Custodian $26.40/hr.
Custodian Supervisor $27.04/hr.
Laborer $54.30/hr.
Plumber $79.09/hr.
Electrician $87.36/hr.

Audio/Visual Support

Faculty and Staff requiring use of audio-visual presentation resources can reserve the appropriate equipment from iMEDIA via their WebCheckout system. Equipment may be picked up and dropped off at the TECH Center Front Desk located at NAC 1/301. Please note that all equipment reservations should be made in advance.

Please note our A/V technicians are billed by the hour with a 4 hour minimum.
All Student based Clubs and Organizations events are handled by the Office of Student Life and Leadership office. For questions you may have about a student club event, please contact (212) 650-5002 or reservations@ccny.cuny.edu .
Audio/Visual Support
  • Internal Events
    • A/V support outside of business hours will be charged $55/hr.** per technician assigned.
    • Depending on availability, contracted A/V technicians may be required. When contracted techs are required during business hours, the billed rate is $55 per hour, per technician.
  • External Events
    • $100/hr. ** per technician assigned. 4 hour minimum.

Events Management

The Office of Events Management can provide a skilled Onsite Manager to assist in event execution.

On-site Manager Fee
Internal events No charge during normal business hours.
Staff required outside of business hours will be charged an hourly rate of $60/hr.
External events $60/hr. 4 hour minimum 
Administrative Fees
Internal events No charge.
External events 10% of total cost.
