Support Services and Fees

Once your application has been reviewed and given preliminary approval status by the Office of Events Management, it will be formally presented to the CCNY Events Screening Committee.

In order to ensure the safety and sanitation of campus events the Events Screening Committee may assign event support staffing. Event support includes Public Safety representatives such as Campus Security Assistants (CSA) and Campus Peace Officers (CPO) as well as Physical Plant Services representatives, which includes custodians, laborers, and electricians.

Fees associated with an event are also assessed by the CCNY Events Screening Committee. Fees can include: venue fees and support service fees such as security, custodial, & audio/visual. Below, you will find more information about event support services and rates.

NOTE: All support services must be paid with non-tax levy funds.

 
Heading: 
Public Safety
Description: 
The City College Department of Public Safety provides safety and security for the entire college community. The Office of Events Management will work closely with event planners to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided for your event.

Public Safety Fees
4 hour minimum for all event.

Security Assistant $24.35/hr.
Peace Officer $32.43/hr.
Corporal $34.74/hr
Sergeant $39.93/hr
Fire Safety Director $48.20/hr

Heading: 
Physical Plant
Description: 
Physical Plant Services provides critical special event support including but not limited to custodians, laborers, electricians, and plumbers. The Office of Events Management will work closely with you to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided for your event.
Physical Plant
4 hour minimum for all events.
Custodian $29/hr.
Custodian Supervisor $32/hr.
Laborer $34/hr.
Plumber $98/hr.
Electrician $77/hr.

Heading: 
Audio/Visual Support
Description: 
Faculty and Staff requiring use of audio-visual presentation resources can reserve the appropriate equipment from iMEDIA via their WebCheckout system. Equipment may be picked up and dropped off at the TECH Center Front Desk located at NAC 1/301. Please note that all equipment reservations should be made in advance.

External clients, as well as Faculty and Staff wishing to have their presentation equipment setup and managed by a dedicated technician, please contact Sheldon Neverson, A/V Specialist, at (212) 650-5303 or sneverson@ccny.cuny.edu for more information. Audio support for events taking place in the Great Hall is provided exclusively by Sonic Arts, rates are included below.   Please note our A/V technicians are billed by the hour with a 4 hour minimum.
 
All Student based Clubs and Organizations events are handled by the Office of Student Life and Leadership office. For questions you may have about a student club event, please contact (212) 650-5002 or reservations@ccny.cuny.edu.
 
Audio/Visual Support
 
Internal events

$35 service fee (effective September 1, 2017) for events during normal CCNY business hours (typically 9am-5pm M-F).
In addition to the service fee, A/V support outside of business hours will be charged $35/hr per technician assigned.

External events $50/hr per technician assigned. 4 hour minimum.
 
Sonic Arts Audio Support (*Great Hall only)
Internal events $65/hr.
External events $85/hr.

Events Management
Description: 

The Office of Events Management can provide a skilled Onsite Manager to assist in event execution.

On-site Manager Fee
Internal events No charge during normal business hours.
Staff required outside of business hours will be charged an hourly rate of $60/hr (effective September 1, 2017).
External events $60/hr. 4 hour minimum (effective September 1, 2017).
Administrative Fees
Internal events No charge.
External events 10% of total cost.
