Students registered with the Access/Ability Center are reminded each semester to send their accommodation letters to faculty at the start of each semester. This process, previously completed via email, is now done via CUNY Accommodate. Accommodate is the CUNY Disability Services platform for all CUNY campuses.
Accommodation Letters
Any faculty member who wishes to view student Accommodation Letters must login to CUNY Accommodate using their CUNY First credentials ( first.last##@login.cuny.edu ).
To send faculty accommodation letters, students complete a Semester Request. This signals to AAC staff members to send student Accommodation Letters via Accommodate. This should allow faculty members to login to Accommodate and view these letters, listed by student, or within their class rosters. Students must do this each semester in which they wish to utilize their accommodations. Not only does this encourage student self-advocacy, but maintains a level of confidentiality to which they are entitled.
Please note CUNY Accommodate letters contain CUNY Accommodate letterhead and are generated through the platform; the Access/Ability Center cannot edit their layout or language.
The two links below contain a video and PDF user guide for faculty on using Accommodate. They will require your CUNY First login.
