Approve and Upload Exams in Accommodate (for Faculty)

Beginning Summer 2026, students will submit all exam accommodation requests through CUNY Accommodate. Faculty will be able to submit and manage exams through Accommodate, ensuring more accurate scheduling and clearer communication between the Exam Center, Students, and CCNY Faculty. Your role in confirming and uploading exams remains the same.

Steps for approving Exam Requests:

  1. Login using your CUNY Credentials ( firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu
  2. Go to “Exams” on the left-hand side of the page, or review your requests under “Test Room Bookings to Review” on the home page.
  3. Open the pending request on that page and review.
  4. Provide a title for the exam, the length of the exam for the class, and whether you will be uploading the exam to Accommodate, or providing it to the office directly. Select any permitted materials, as well as any additional information or instructions for Exam Center staff to know.
  5. Finally, select a date for your exam. If you select “Apply to all records”, Exam Center staff can use this information for all students who submit a booking request for this exam.
  6. Lastly, upload the exam at the bottom of the page, if preferred, and select Save.

Can I still submit exams via email? Will AAC still email them back to me?

Yes, please feel free to send your exam materials to accessabilityexams@ccny.cuny.edu . We are also happy to return your exam materials via scan and email as well. Note that this is not an option listed in Accommodate, but we can still honor this preference.

Closing the Old Exam Portal

The previous exam portal in CityCentral has been closed to student use.

Why move to Accommodate?

Moving exams to CUNY Accommodate has consolidated all of CCNY's accommodations into one centralized location. Additionally:

  • Accommodate maintains a more accurate record of examinations, student changes, and provides more consistent communication to both students and faculty.
  • It allows both students and faculty to make and document changes to their exam requests.
  • It is also usable via mobile, and supports visiting and E-Permit students.
  • Students can only submit exam requests after sending their accommodation letters, ensuring this crucial step is completed before utilizing the Exam Center.

What else should I know about the Exam Center?

  • Operating hours are 9-5, Monday through Thursday, and 9-3 on Fridays (During Spring and Fall)
  • Students should take their exams at the same time as the rest of the class unless their extended time creates a conflict, or the instructor has approved a change.
  • We are located in the North Academic Center in room 1/217A
  • All students taking exams in 1/217 are monitored via a camera system.
  • The Exam Center has computers if needed for your examination, as well as other assistive technology that might be approved for some students.
