   Narcisa Núñez

Narcisa Núñez is a third-year doctoral student in the Department of Latin American, Caribbean, and US Latino Studies at the University at Albany, SUNY. Her research focuses on the children of the immigrant population and the preservation and transmission of memory in the receiving society. Specifically, Núñez examines the legacy of the historical memory of the Trujillo regime (1930-1961) among the younger generations of Dominican ancestry born and raised in the U.S. through cultural production. The NSA Fellowship will allow Núñez to study several Dominican artists in three one-of-a-kind collections housed at CUNY DSI’s Dominican Archives: the Julia Santos Solomón Collection; The Manifestaciones Art Exhibit Collection; and the Tito Enrique Cánepa Collection.
