Mission Statement
The AccessAbility Center/Student Disability Services (AAC/SDS) is dedicated to ensuring full participation and equitable access to all services, programs, and activities at The City College of New York (CCNY), in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Amendments Act of 2008, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Fair Housing Act of 1968, and other relevant federal, state, and local non-discrimination laws. AAC/SDS achieves this by coordinating and implementing academic accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services for students with disabilities. The Center strives for full inclusion by addressing and removing barriers to access in policies, procedures, and practices. AAC/SDS also promotes disability awareness within the CCNY community through workshops, training sessions, and the distribution of educational materials.
