Launching the UNU–CCNY Hub with the M.A. in The Study of the Americas
A New Global Platform for Urban Sustainability, Knowledge, and Possibility

The Americas, Reimagined marks the launch of the UNU–CCNY Hub, bringing together the United Nations University and The City College of New York.

The event will introduce the Hub and its connection with the M.A. in The Study of the Americas, highlighting its focus on research, education, and collaboration across the Americas.

Members of the UNU and CCNY communities will join scholars, students, practitioners, and partners to recognize the launch and learn more about the Hub, the M.A. program, and the work ahead.

Prof. Kaveh Madani
Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH).

Professor Kaveh Madani is a distinguished environmental scientist, educator, and leader renowned for his interdisciplinary approach to addressing complex environmental and human security challenges. He is the author of the Global Water Bankruptcy Report and the 2026 Stockholm Water Prize laureate, the world’s most prestigious award for outstanding achievements in water.

He currently serves as the Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment, and Health (UNU-INWEH) and the Founding Chair of the UNU Sustainability Nexus AID (Analytics, Informatics and Data) Programme. Additionally, he holds a Research Professorship at the City University of New York's Remote Sensing Earth Systems Institute (CUNY CREST).
