CCMA Hybrid Program

Become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing industries in the nation—with medical assistants ranked among the most in-demand roles across hospitals, clinics, and physician practices. As patient needs increase, employers are seeking skilled, multi-functional professionals who can support both administrative operations and hands-on clinical care.

Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs) play a vital role in delivering quality healthcare. They schedule appointments, manage patient records, process billing and insurance forms, record vital signs, assist with examinations, draw blood, and administer medications under the supervision of a physician. Their blend of administrative and clinical expertise makes them essential members of modern care teams.

The CCMA Certificate Program at CCNY Continuing and Professional Studies is designed to prepare you for this critical role. Through a 320-hour online / hybrid training, you’ll gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel as a medical assistant and sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam. You’ll learn from MedStar Billing Technology and Resources—an instructional provider with over a decade of experience in healthcare training and transaction processing.

Earning a CCMA credential not only boosts your employability, it also opens the door to long-term career mobility. Medical assistants can advance into roles such as patient coordinator, health coach, patient navigator, or healthcare manager, building a strong foundation for a lasting career in healthcare.

Whether you’re entering the field for the first time or ready to take the next step in your professional journey, this program equips you with the hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and industry-recognized certification needed to make an immediate impact in today’s healthcare environments.
