Online Pharmacy Technician Certification

The Online Pharmacy Technician Program  prepares students to support pharmacists in medication dispensing, patient communication, and daily pharmacy operations. Students will learn drug classifications, dosage calculations, prescription processing, inventory management, safety protocols, and pharmacy law. Through practice and industry-aligned instruction, this course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to sit for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and pursue employment in retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, long-term care facilities, and mail-order or specialty pharmacies.

Course Description

In the 75-hour Pharmacy Technician program, students will learn applied and practical information necessary to pass for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). 

This one-semester long Pharmacy Technician Certification Program prepares students to follow a rewarding career path in the industry. Students learn about serving patients, maintaining medication inventory control systems, and managing a pharmacy. Students also prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE), a nationally recognized certification examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Enrollment Requirements

  • Students must have a High School Diploma, GED® or HSE Diploma
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to work legally in the U.S
