Study English in New York City

Improve your English while experiencing life in New York City. The English Language Institute (ELI) at The City College of New York offers an intensive English language program for international students seeking to strengthen their communication skills, prepare for academic opportunities, and gain confidence using English in everyday life.

Located in Manhattan, CCNY provides a college learning environment where students can develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while experiencing one of the world's most diverse cities.

Our full-time Intensive English program combines classroom instruction with opportunities to practice English in real-world situations. Students build their language proficiency through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and instruction tailored to their English level.

Whether your goal is to pursue further education, advance your career, or improve your English for personal enrichment, ELI provides a strong foundation to help you reach your goals. Students are placed in the appropriate class based on their English proficiency level.
