The accelerated master's (4+1) option allows undergraduates to take master's courses, each satisfying a requirement of the undergraduate degree and of a future master's program. The option simplifies later admission to the master's program, and makes its later completion quicker and cheaper.
Degrees: BE(EE) / ME or MS(EE)
Admissions requirements:
- EE major
- GPA at least 3.0 and good academic standing
- 60 credits completed by the start of the first semester in the option
- Personal statement describing interest in E.E.
- Two recommendation letters (optional)
Maximum transferable graduate courses (B grade or higher):
12 credits (4 electives)
To stay in the 4+1 option:
Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing. If the GPA falls below 3.0, the student will be given one semester to rectify it.
4+1 option administrator: Mr. Edward Baurin
Graduate advisor: Prof. Alex Gilerson
