Important IT Security Update: Tenable.io (9/30/26)

New Vulnerability Scanning Agent for CCNY Devices

Dear Faculty and Staff,

CUNY has transitioned its vulnerability-scanning platform from Tenable.sc to Tenable.io. As part of this change, a new agent must be installed on devices that access the university network or are used to conduct university business.

What to expect

  • In most cases, the installation will occur automatically.
  • If hands-on assistance is required, an OIT technician will contact you through an official CCNY channel to coordinate the installation.
  • The new agent will support vulnerability scanning without requiring OIT to create local administrator accounts or make firewall configuration changes for scanning.
  • For research offices, OIT will reach out to schedule installation.
  • The new agent helps identify vulnerabilities on a continuous basis, enabling more timely security updates and supporting regular patching of campus managed devices.

Action required

Please allow the installation and updates to proceed and restart your computer when prompted. OIT will work with you to address any devices that cannot be scanned or updated. Devices that cannot be scanned may be isolated from the university network to protect university systems and data.

Privacy Notice

In compliance with CUNY’s policy on acceptable use of digital assets and resources, the Tenable agent is a vulnerability assessment tool, not an employee monitoring or remote access tool. It examines security related information, such as the operating system, installed software, versions, patches, and system configurations to identify vulnerabilities. It does not provide OIT or Tenable administrators with remote control of the computer or general access to users’ documents, email, or other personal files.

Questions or concerns?

Contact IT Security at itsecurity@ccny.cuny.edu .

Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this important security update.

CCNY Email Migration Update (9/28/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The issue affecting distribution lists following the CCNY email migration has been resolved. Distribution lists in the new CUNY email environment are now working properly, and faculty and staff may resume sending messages directly to them.

Distribution Lists – Restored
Distribution lists are now available and working properly in the new CUNY email environment.

  • You may send messages directly to the distribution lists you previously used.
  • Also, you can continue to send requests to BroadcastRequest@ccny.cuny.edu to distribute communication on your behalf, as needed.
  • Emails received from distribution lists may display an “Unverified” tag. We are working on resolving this issue.

Calendar Invitations and Updates - Pending

The known issue affecting calendar events created before the email migration remains under review. When an existing event is modified, updated details may not reach attendees or appear on their calendars. Until this issue is resolved, please create a new calendar event rather than modifying an event that was created before the migration.

If you continue to experience an issue
Please contact the OIT Service Desk ( servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu or 2126507878) and include the name of the distribution list or calendar event, along with a brief description of the issue.

OIT continues to work with CUNY and Microsoft on the remaining calendar issue and will provide additional updates as solutions become available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete the transition to the new CUNY email environment.

Time & Leave Application Transition to CUNY Login (9/24/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As part of our ongoing effort to streamline access to CCNY systems, the Time & Leave (Timesheet) application will transition to CUNY Login on October 12th, 2026.

Beginning on this date, you will access the Time & Leave application using your CUNY Login ID ( firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu ), the same credentials used to access other CUNY systems and services.

This change is part of a broader initiative to gradually transition CCNY applications to CUNY Login, providing Students, Faculty, and Staff with a more consistent sign-in experience across CUNY and CCNY systems. It also adds an extra layer of security through CUNY Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), helping protect your account and university information.

No action is required before the transition. Beginning on October 12th, 2026, simply use your CUNY Login ID and password when signing in to the Time & Leave  (Timesheet) application.

If you experience any issues accessing the application after the transition, please contact the OIT Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu for assistance.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to improve and simplify access to CCNY technology services.

Emergency Wi-Fi Maintenance - Friday, 9/18 (9 PM - 2 AM) (9/18/26)

The Office of Information Technology will be performing emergency wireless network maintenance on Friday, September 18 starting at 9:00PM and ending at 2:00AM Saturday, September 19. During this time, campus Wi-Fi will not be available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your support and cooperation as we continue making improvements to the college's technology systems.

Please feel free to reach out to our Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu or (212) 650-7878 for questions or concerns.

CCNY Email Migration: Known Issues (9/15/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we continue to work with CUNY to resolve the remaining issues following the CCNY email migration, we would like to provide an update on two known issues and the available workarounds.

Distribution Lists

We are aware that some distribution lists have not yet been fully migrated to the new CUNY email environment. As a result, you may experience issues when sending messages to certain distribution lists.

If you need to send a communication to a distribution list that was available in the old email system, please send your request to BroadcastRequest@ccny.cuny.edu , and OIT can distribute the communication on your behalf while we complete the migration of the remaining distribution lists.

For faculty communicating with students in their classes: Brightspace also provides communication tools that allow instructors to email students enrolled in their courses. This can be used as an alternative when communicating directly with your class.

Calendar Events Created Prior the Migration

There is also a known issue affecting calendar events that were created before the email migration. When an existing calendar event is modified—for example, when the time, location, or other details are changed—the updated information may not reach attendees, or the changes may not be reflected on their calendars.

CUNY has identified this as a known issue. At this time, the recommended workaround is to create a new calendar event rather than modifying an event that was created before the migration.

OIT continues to work with CUNY and Microsoft to address these issues and will provide additional updates as solutions become available.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete the transition to the new CUNY email environment.

Network Maintenance Friday 9/11, 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM (9/11/26)

Dear CCNY Community,

The Office of Information Technology will be performing network maintenance on Friday, September 11, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 11:00 PM. This maintenance will address critical software and security updates. During this maintenance period, access to the following services may be intermittent:

  • Campus internet access
  • Technology services that are accessed from outside the campus such as authentication services (Active Directory), faculty and staff e-mail, CCNY hosted applications
  • Remote Access (VPN)

Brightspace and CUNY applications (CUNYfirst, Dropbox, Office365) are not affected by this maintenance.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your support and cooperation as we continue making improvements to the college technology systems.

Please feel free to reach out to the CCNY Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu or at 212-650-7878 for questions or concerns.

Critical Network Maintenance - Saturday, 9/5 (5 PM - 10 PM) (9/4/26)

Dear Campus Community,

The Office of Information Technology will be performing maintenance on the campus network infrastructure equipment on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM and ending at 10:00 PM. During this maintenance period, access to the following services will not be available:

  • Authentication services such as Active Directory and Single Sign-on (SSO)
  • Network File Shares
  • Applications hosted in OIT Servers

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your support and cooperation as we continue making improvements to the college technology systems.

Please feel free to reach out to the CCNY Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu or at 212-650-7878 for questions or concerns.

Security Alert: Don’t Fall For Fake Job Offers! (9/1/26)

Dear Campus Community,

Recently, our campus has been the target of numerous phishing attacks using a variety of fraudulent offers and notices. These attacks primarily target Students, Staff and Faculty with fake notices of account termination, fraudulent job offers, and fake requests from supervisors and other administrators to purchase gift cards.

The attacks are carried out by using college accounts that were compromised in some form, impersonating college offices or officers, as well as accounts made on free email platforms such as Google (Gmail) and Outlook. We encourage everyone to exercise a high level of caution when reading email with the [external] tag or those with offers that are too good to be true.

If you think you have already been impacted by this security threat

If you receive a potential phishing message, or if you already responded to a phishing email, immediately contact the IT Security Office at itsecurity@ccny.cuny.edu or the CCNY Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu .

Recommended User Action

  • DO NOT reply to unexpected or unusual email from any sender.
  • DO be particularly cautious when the “external source” warning banner is present.
  • DO NOT respond to job offers originating from citymail.cuny.edu addresses. Citymail accounts are only assigned to students and the school does not advertise job offers using student email accounts. These jobs will try to get you to cash fake checks and send your own money to others.
  • DO NOT reply to email or text messages with any personal information, passwords, or MFA verification codes. Your password or MFA verification code should never be shared for any reason. If you have reason to believe that the request is real, contact the CCNY Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu or (212)650-7878.
  • DO NOT click a link or open an attachment in an unsolicited email message. If you have reason to believe the request is real, type the web address for the company or institution directly into your web browser.
  • DO NOT use the same password for your work account, bank, Facebook, etc. In the event you do fall victim to a phishing attempt, perpetrators attempt to use your compromised password to access many online services.
  • DO change ALL of your passwords if you suspect any account you have access to may be compromised.
  • DO be particularly cautious when reading email on a mobile device. It may be easier to miss telltale signs of phishing attempts when reading email on a smaller screen.
  • DO remember that official communications should not solicit personal information by email.
  • DO report spam to reportspam@ccny.cuny.edu
  • DO read the CUNY Ransomware and Phishing Advisories posted at security.cuny.edu under CUNY Issued Security Advisories.
  • DO complete information security awareness training located at https://course.enterprisetraining.com/cybersecurityemp2023/story.html.

If you have any questions about this security alert, please do not hesitate to contact IT Security at itsecurity@ccny.cuny.edu .

Thank you for your attention.

CCNY Email Migration: Known Issues (8/31/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we continue to work with CUNY to resolve the remaining issues following the CCNY email migration, we would like to make you aware of two known issues that may affect some users.

Calendar Invitations and Updates

There is an issue affecting calendar events that were created before the email migration. When an existing calendar event is modified—for example, when the time, location, or other details are changed—the updated information may not reach the attendees, or the changes may not be reflected on their calendars.

CUNY has identified this as a known issue. At this time, the recommended workaround is to create a new calendar event rather than modifying an event that was created before the migration.

Distribution Lists

We are also aware that some distribution lists have not yet been fully migrated to the new CUNY email environment. As a result, you may experience issues when sending messages to certain distribution lists.

In the meantime, if you need to send an email to a distribution list that was available in the old email system, please send your request to BroadcastRequest@ccny.cuny.edu , and we can distribute the communication on your behalf while we complete the migration of all distribution lists.

OIT is actively working with CUNY and Microsoft on these issues and will provide additional updates as solutions become available.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete the transition to the new CUNY email environment.

Email Migration Update (8/28/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are pleased to share that the migration of CCNY email addresses to the CUNY email environment has been completed. Email content has been copied for all users listed as Active in CUNYfirst, and users should now have access to their email content in their new CUNY mailbox.

If you are experiencing difficulties reconfiguring your Outlook client on your desktop or laptop, please follow the troubleshooting instructions available on the OIT website or contact the OIT Service Desk for assistance. In the meantime, we recommend using Outlook on the web to access your email.

Departmental service accounts and shared calendars have also been migrated, and their content copied. If you previously had access to a departmental service account, please add the account to your Outlook profile: In Outlook, go to Settings → Accounts → Shared with Me → Add. To add a shared calendar: In Outlook, go to Calendar → Add calendar → Add from directory, search for and select the calendar, then select Add.

Migration of distribution lists is still in progress. Many lists are functioning normally, but we have received reports that some lists are not yet working properly. We are working to resolve this issue. If you need to send an email to a distribution list that was available in the old email system, please send your request to BroadcastRequest@ccny.cuny.edu , and we will be able to distribute the communication on your behalf while we complete the migration of all distribution lists.

If you use a hardware token for authentication with the old email system, we can reconfigure the same hardware token for use with the CUNY system. If you would like to continue using it, please contact the OIT Service Desk for assistance. Please have your hardware token available when you contact us.

As with any large-scale technology transition, we are continuing to address a few minor remaining individual issues in coordination with CUNY. We appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout this migration. The successful completion of this transition represents a significant milestone for our campus and the University as a whole.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Email Migration Update – Migration in Progress (8/12/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Your email migration is still in progress. We are currently copying the remaining content from your CCNY mailbox to your new CUNY email account. Most users will not yet see email messages from the past three weeks, as this content is still being copied to the new mailbox.

We are also synchronizing your CCNY email address with your CUNY mailbox. During this process, you may not yet be able to find yours or other CCNY recipients using their @ccny.cuny.edu email addresses.

These are expected as the migration and synchronization continue. We will provide another update as the process progresses.

If you are having trouble accessing your new mailbox, verify that you can sign in to Outlook.com using your CUNY Login ID (for example, jane.doe99@login.cuny.edu ) and your CUNYfirst password.

For additional assistance, contact the OIT Service Desk:

IMPORTANT: Update - CUNY E-mail Migration on Wed, 8/12 (8/6/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We have finalized the date for the CUNY email migration. The migration is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. As part of the migration process, CCNY email services will become unavailable beginning Tuesday, August 11, at 6:00 p.m. while mailboxes are transitioned to Microsoft 365.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication

If you have not set up or used your Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) within the last two months or if you recently changed your phone and/or have not yet configured your MFA, you must do so before your scheduled email migration.

Failure to verify your MFA before migration means longer wait time and prevent you from accessing your CUNY email and Microsoft 365 services after your mailbox has been migrated.

Please complete the following before your migration:

Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your CUNYfirst login credentials.

  • Confirm that you receive the authentication prompt and can successfully complete the sign-in process.
  • If you have changed or replaced your mobile device recently, verify that your authentication method is still up to date.
  • If you experience any issues with MFA, contact the IT Service Desk before your scheduled migration date so we can assist you.

If you are having issues with setting up your Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you can attend one of the info session scheduled for next week, see information below.

Additional Info sessions

To ensure everyone has another opportunity to prepare, we have scheduled two additional information sessions on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11. If you or members of your staff have any remaining questions about the migration, we strongly encourage you to attend one of these sessions.

Information Session Schedule

Monday, August 10 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Tuesday, August 11 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

URGENT: Verify Microsoft 365 MFA Before Email Migration (8/4/26)

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) strongly urges all faculty and staff to verify that their Microsoft 365 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is working before your Microsoft 365 email migration.

Failure to verify your MFA before migration means longer wait time and prevent you from accessing your CUNY email and Microsoft 365 services after your mailbox has been migrated.

Please complete the following before your migration:

  • Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your CUNYfirst login credentials.

Verifying your MFA in advance is one of the most important steps you can take to ensure uninterrupted access to your CUNY email after migration.

How to Access Email after migration
Via Outlook web: outlook.office.com, enter CUNY login credentials ( first.last##@login.cuny.edu )
Via Outlook App: Adding CUNY Email to Desktop or Laptop - Windows / MacOS or on mobile device

IMPORTANT: CCNY / IT Desktop Infrastructure Modernization Initiative (5/11/26)

Dear City College Faculty and Staff,

We have great news: shipments of over 2,100 new computers have begun arriving — Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Dell Pro Slim, and iMac. Thanks to the CUNY Future capital funding initiative, these will be combined with approximately 400 CCNY-purchased computers as part of the CCNY Desktop Infrastructure Modernization Initiative.

As we close out the Spring semester, the Office of Information Technology is inviting you to attend a series of Zoom IT Forums on CCNY's Desktop Infrastructure Modernization Initiative:

  • Wednesday, May 13, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Thursday, May 14, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Friday, May 15, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

While we had hoped these computers would arrive prior to the summer break, we have been strategically preparing their delivery, configuration, and distribution for months. Our goal remains to deploy them as quickly as possible during the summer, replacing obsolete computers to improve both productivity and cybersecurity. Our plans also include collaborating with the Office of Property Management to inventory all computers and decommission expired devices.

Since many essential faculty and staff members are less available during the summer, we are working to account for their schedules in our deployment planning.

To succeed, we need your help. Please help us spread the word about these IT Forums by forwarding this message to your colleagues.

In addition to the new computer deployment, we will use this opportunity to provide updates and address questions on other OIT initiatives, including:

  • CCNY student email migration updates
  • CCNY faculty and staff email integration to CUNY Microsoft 365 (Summer 2026)
  • Network Host, Cybersecurity, and Inventory Host Requirement compliance and enforcement updates
  • Windows and MacOS operating system upgrades (in progress)
  • Directory information and Asset Management data reconciliation (in progress)
  • OIT Support and Training Survey and other support resources (in progress)

Thank you for your support!

Important Notice: Possible Email Delivery Issue for Some Faculty and Staff (4/30/26)

We are writing to inform you of a potential email delivery issue that may affect a limited number of faculty and staff members. As part of a recent update to student email accounts across CUNY, some staff and faculty members may have been assigned an additional CUNY (student) email mailbox. In some cases, messages from certain CUNY systems may be delivered to this mailbox instead of your regular City College email account.

As of now, this may affect individuals who were previously enrolled as students, applied to another CUNY campus, or have prior student-related records in CUNY systems.

At this time, if you are expecting emails from CUNY systems such as Brightspace, EAB Navigate, or other CUNY-related services, please check the additional CUNY mailbox associated with your CUNY Login ID (your @login.cuny.edu account).
To access this mailbox:

  • Go to https://outlook.office.com
  • Sign in using your CUNY Login ID or CUNYfirst credentials
  • Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), if prompted

If you are automatically signed into your regular CCNY email account, you may need to:

  • Use a private/incognito browser window
  • Try a different web browser
  • Clear your browser cache

Checking this (student) mailbox may help ensure you do not miss important or time-sensitive communications while this issue is being addressed. CCNY IT is actively working with CUNY Central to resolve this issue and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

If you believe you are affected or need assistance, please contact the OIT Service Desk at 212-650-7878 or email at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu .

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Reinforce Use of New CCNY Student Email (4/15/26)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The @stu-mail.ccny.cuny.edu mailbox is now the official student email, and all CUNY and CCNY communications are delivered there. Students must log in using their CUNY Login ID ( firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu ), not their new campus email address.

However, we are seeing that many students are not consistently checking or using their new CCNY email accounts, and we need your support to reinforce this transition.

Students currently have access to both their legacy Citymail account and their new @stu-mail.ccny.cuny.edu mailbox as part of a phased approach. While Citymail remains temporarily available for access to older messages — and emails sent there are forwarded to their new mailbox — students should be actively using and checking their new CCNY email. This dual-access period is temporary and ensures continuity while content is being copied to the new mailbox.

How you can help:

  • Remind students to log in via Outlook.com using their CUNY Login ID (firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu)
  • Encourage students to use their new CCNY email when sending messages
  • Update course materials and communications to reference the new email
  • When possible, communicate with students using their new CCNY email address

Your reinforcement is critical to ensure students do not miss important communications.

If you or your students need assistance, please contact the IT Service Desk at  servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu .

Provided for your situational awareness, the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) National Security Agency (NSA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Energy (DOE), and United States Cyber Command - Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF) issued a joint cybersecurity advisory titled (TLP:CLEAR) Iranian-Affiliated Cyber Actors Exploit Programmable Logic Controllers Across US Critical Infrastructure.

Summary: This joint cybersecurity advisory urgently warns US organizations of ongoing cyber exploitation of internet-connected operational technology (OT) devices, including Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley-manufactured programmable logic controllers (PLCs), across multiple US critical infrastructure sectors. As a result of this activity, organizations across multiple US critical infrastructure sectors experienced disruptions from through malicious interactions and manipulation of data displayed on human machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) displays. In a few cases, this activity has resulted in operational disruption and financial loss.

Due to the widespread use of these PLCs, there exists a high and the potential for expanded additional targeting of other branded OT devices across critical infrastructure sectors. The authoring agencies recommend US organizations urgently review the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and indicators of compromise (IOCs) in this advisory for indications of current or historical activity on their networks, and apply the recommendations listed in the mitigations section to reduce the risk of compromise.

Ongoing Phishing Warning (3/9/26)

Dear City College Community,

We have received reports that members of our community are being targeted by phishing text messages impersonating City College or CUNY IT staff. These messages often come from unfamiliar phone numbers and claim that your email account is scheduled for termination or requires urgent verification.

Please be aware that these messages are fraudulent.

The CUNY or City College IT teams will never contact you via text or request account confirmation through text or phone calls.

No one at CUNY or City College will legitimately ever ask for an MFA code, and no one must ever approve or respond to an unexpected MFA prompt that they did not initiate.

What to look out for:

  • Messages asking you to “confirm” whether you requested email termination
  • Unexpected texts claiming to be from IT or Information Security
  • Urgent requests for a YES/NO reply
  • Messages containing unusual grammar, formatting, or sender information

If you receive one of these messages:

  • Do not reply
  • Do not click any links
  • Block the sender
  • Report the message to the IT Security team immediately

Your awareness helps protect the entire campus.

If you have questions or are unsure whether a message is legitimate, please contact the IT Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu  or IT Security at itsecurity@ccny.cuny.edu through our official channels only.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding access to Adobe applications.

Adobe has recently transitioned to a new licensing model that requires users to sign in using their CUNY credentials instead of CCNY credentials. As a result of this change, some users may have received a notification indicating that their access to Adobe license was terminated.

The issue has now been resolved.  Your Adobe access can be restored by following the steps listed below.

1. Completely sign out of all Adobe applications if you are currently logged in.
2. Sign back in using your CUNY Credentials, formatted as follows:
firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu
(The “##” represents the last two digits of your EMPLID.)

For example:  John.Smith34@login.cuny.edu

Once you have logged in using this format, your Adobe access and license should be restored. If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please submit a ticket to the Service Desk at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Email Delivery & System Stability

Following the restoration of services, Microsoft's mail servers processed a significant backlog of messages. Most emails sent during the outage period should have been delivered successfully, though they may have arrived several hours late.

If you suspect an important message was not delivered, we recommend checking your "Sent" folder for any Non-Delivery Reports (NDR) or reaching out to the sender to verify receipt. If you are experiencing persistent connectivity issues, please restart your Outlook desktop client or mobile application.

Zoom Access Reminder, Use Your CUNY Login (1/23/26)

Dear Campus Community,

If you have not signed into Zoom using your @login.cuny.edu credentials since December 29, 2025, please sign out on all devices and browsers, then sign back in using the SSO option at https://cuny.zoom.us with your CUNY Login credentials. This resolves most sign in and access issues. If problems continue, fully uninstall the Zoom app and reinstall the latest version from https://zoom.us/download. If issues persist, visit the iMEDIA Reservation Desk located in NAC 1204 or contact them via email at iMEDIA@ccny.cuny.edu or via telephone at 212-650-5480 for assistance.

Legacy Zoom accounts using @ccny, @citymail, or @med.cuny.edu credentials are no longer accessible.

If scheduled meetings or recordings from your legacy account do not appear after signing in, contact the CCNY Service Desk at ServiceDesk@ccny.cuny.edu to request a data merge. This process may take a few days and, in some cases, more than a week.

To use features such as co-host, both the host and co-host must be signed in with @login.cuny.edu Zoom accounts. Legacy CCNY Zoom accounts cannot be assigned as co hosts.

Service and departmental Zoom accounts are not yet available and are expected later this year. Until then, departments should host meetings using an individual staff or faculty member’s @login.cuny.edu Zoom account.

Thank you for your cooperation.

New Redesigned CUNY Login Page (1/16/26)

Dear Campus Community:

CUNY students, faculty, and staff can notice a new CUNY Login page when logging into applications. In addition to a cleaner, more modern look with less text, the new CUNY Login page provides the following enhancements:

  • No need to enter “@login.cuny.edu” as part of your username
  • More responsive design for ease of use regardless of device screen size
  • Improved error handling to avoid restarting the login process from the application’s login link

If you are having problems with CUNY Login, please contact our Service Desk at ServiceDesk@ccny.cuny.edu or by calling at (212) 650-7878.

Network Maintenance Saturday 1/17, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (1/15/26)

Dear CCNY Community,

The Office of Information Technology will be performing network maintenance on Saturday, January 17, 2026, starting at 7:00 am and ending at 1:00 pm.

CDI & ASRC Scheduled IT Power Maintenance – Possible Network Interruption (1/9/26)

Dear CDI & ASRC Occupants,

Please be advised that scheduled power maintenance will take place in the IT room serving the CDI and ASRC networks on Saturday, January 10, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

During this maintenance, internet access, network services (including remote access), and telephone service within the buildings may be temporarily unavailable.

Please note:

  • Power maintenance will affect only the IT room that supports these buildings’ networks.
  • Power to offices and other areas outside the IT room will not be affected.
  • Occupants should prepare for any contingencies in case network or phone services are interrupted.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

CCNY Zoom Migration Completed (1/2/26)

Dear Campus Community,

The migration of individual CCNY Zoom accounts to CUNY Login has been completed.

Before continuing to use Zoom, you must sign out of Zoom on all devices and browsers, then sign back in using cuny.zoom.us with your CUNY Login ID and MFA.

If you do not complete this sign-out and sign-in step, you may not see your expected profile settings, meetings, or recordings. In many cases, these issues resolve once the correct sign-in process is followed.

If you continue to experience issues after signing out of all devices and signing back in through cuny.zoom.us, please contact the CCNY IT Service Desk at ServiceDesk@ccny.cuny.edu with details about what is missing.

Thank you for your cooperation as we complete this transition.

CCNY Zoom accounts migrating to CUNY Login on December 29 (12/17/25)

Dear Campus Community,

City College Zoom accounts will be moving to CUNY’s Zoom environment on Monday, December 29, 2025, after 9:00 PM. After the cutover, everyone will sign in at cuny.zoom.us using their CUNY Login username and password ( firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu ). You will no longer be able to sign in at ccny.zoom.us after this time.

During the transition after 9:00 PM, users may briefly experience limited access while the cutover completes.

After December 29, all users must complete a one time confirmation the first time they sign in at cuny.zoom.us. Users may need to log out of any existing Zoom sessions before signing in to their CUNY Login Zoom account. Zoom will display a message asking to move your account to CUNY’s Zoom system. Select OK to complete the migration. If you choose Cancel, you will not be able to use Zoom until you sign in again at cuny.zoom.us and select OK.

Users who have meetings scheduled for the evening of December 29 that begin after 9:00 PM should plan to sign in at cuny.zoom.us once the cutover is complete.

Some users who have more than one Zoom account within CUNY may need assistance if they want to keep meetings or cloud recordings from an older campus Zoom account. Zoom does not allow users to merge accounts on their own. A Zoom administrator must complete this process.

You may need a merge if:

  • You have used both @ccny.cuny.edu and @citymail.cuny.edu in Zoom
  • You have Zoom accounts at more than one CUNY campus
  • You have meetings or recordings stored in another campus Zoom account that you want moved into your CUNY Login Zoom account

If your primary affiliation in CUNYfirst is City College:

If you need content moved, email the CCNY Service Desk at ServiceDesk@ccny.cuny.edu with:

  • Your full name and EMPLID (the Service Desk can provide it if you do not know yours)
  • The campus Zoom account that contains the meetings or recordings you want moved into your CUNY Login Zoom account

If your primary affiliation is another CUNY campus:

Your CUNY Login Zoom account is managed by the campus listed as your primary affiliation in CUNYfirst. If you have CCNY Zoom content you want moved into your main CUNY Login Zoom account, email ServiceDesk@ccny.cuny.edu to facilitate the merge process.

Service and departmental Zoom accounts:

These accounts will follow a separate process. Additional guidance will be shared after the migration.

We appreciate your cooperation as we complete this transition to CUNY Login for Zoom.

Review and Update Your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Settings (12/15/25)

As the season of giving approaches, some of us may be receiving new phones, tablets, or other devices. To make sure your new device gets set up correctly, now is the perfect time to review and update your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings.

🚨Why is this important?

If you don’t add MFA factors to your new device before getting rid of the old one, you may become 🔒locked out🔒 of CUNY and CCNY applications. In that case, you must wait for the Service Desk to reset your MFA — and that may mean longer delays during the year-end holidays.

To avoid access delays, please take a moment to review how to add a new or alternative device for CUNY Login MFA and Microsoft MFA before getting rid of your current device.

⚠️Important:
Do not delete or disable your last working authentication method. You must always have at least one enabled factor to sign in.

🔖We recommend you save this email for future reference.
