Spend a Day with the Colin Powell School

On March 22, 2016, the Colin Powell School will open its doors for a full day of events designed to give our alumni, supporters, prospective students, and the families of current students an insider’s view of our exciting programming. As a leading public institution, City College and the Colin Powell School value the relationships we’ve built around the city and across the nation. We hope that by inviting our supporters and those interested in learning more about us to our campus, we can strengthen existing relationships, form new ones, and share our excitement about the work taking place at our school.

 

Each year, the Colin Powell School plays host to over 100 public events, making it a leading public resource in New York City. Our students are engaged in service and community outreach. The research of our faculty is specifically tuned to the goals of making the world a more just, secure, and prosperous place for everyone. We founded our school on the ideals of service and public leadership, and we’re proud to offer our programs and activities for public review.

 

We’ll start the day off with our morning Conversations with City breakfast talk (topic to be confirmed), followed by a luncheon seminar with Dean Vince Boudreau. Following lunch, guests will have the chance to tour the campus, visit a classroom, and listen to faculty present some of the most exciting aspects of their research and work. We’ll also have a reception to welcome prospective students to the Colin Powell School and inform them about the opportunities they will find here.

 

Over the next two weeks, we will begin posting specific event information for March 22 and will continue to keep our events page updated.

 

We look forward to seeing you on campus on the 22nd and to invite you, on that day, or in the future, to learn more about our work. The core of our mission is to educate a new generation of leaders. But we situate that mission in a broader relationship to our surrounding communities—in which we hope you will see a place for yourself.
