The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) at CCNY ensures that biological research at the College adheres to the highest applicable safety standards. This is done through the review of protocols that involve recombinant DNA, synthetic nucleic acids, or other biological hazards of concern, according to the guidelines and regulations set by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by persons affiliated with the College and the broader community.
