The City College of New York recognizes the scientific and ethical responsibility for the humane care and use of animals involved in research and education and enjoins all individuals involved to the highest standards of care and consideration.

The Animal Care Facility (ACF) is responsible for managing all facilities in which animals are maintained for teaching and research programs at City College. We offer resources for campus faculty, students and staff in their research related activities through training and technical assistance. ACF, as agents for the City College of New York’s obligation for humane care and use of animals, shall:

  • Assure that all activities involving animals meet the ethical and legal requirements for the humane care and use of animals
  • Maintain and promote and open and cooperative relationship with investigators and faculty, and the greater College community
