Opportunity Funds for Honors Students

Opportunity Funds for Honors Students

Visionary donors to City College created Opportunity Funds to enrich students’ educational experience beyond the classroom. Opportunity Funds at City College today allow exceptional students to pursue study abroad, internships, research fieldwork and other forms of professional development. For instance, the Herbert and Ruth Aschkenasy family established a fund to allow honors students to study abroad, attend professional conferences, and prepare for graduate and professional school entrance examinations, such as the GRE, MCAT, and LSAT. Join these donors today and support the best of the best at City College.

Macaulay Honors Program

Macaulay Honors students are offered an Opportunity Fund stipend, in addition to their full scholarship support at City College, to pursue study abroad, internships, or independent research – thus enriching their overall academic experience. To maintain this status, Macaulay students must achieve an overall 3.3 GPA by the end of their first year and a 3.5 GPA by the end of their second, which must be maintained until graduation.

Travel Grants for Students

Travel awards not only enable students to experience different cultures, but also enrich their educational experience by incorporating their classroom learning and research skills into daily practice. Generous supporters of City College have created exceptional opportunities for our students. Previous examples include research trips by students from the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Germany.
